Water has always called to me—the gentle lap of waves against a pier, the sparkle of sunlight dancing on freshly opened spring water, the weight of a pebble sinking into liquid depths. I am drawn to its fluidity, its dual nature of predictability and surprise, its capacity to shift states—frozen, strong enough to bear vehicles; liquid, yielding yet grounding. Living the majority of my life among the lakes of Minnesota or along the Gulf Coast on Scenic Hwy 30-A, I have felt a deep connection to water. It is where my calmest center lies, where memory and reflection merge, and where creativity flows freely.

In this series, part of the Water Mirrors Life exhibition at the Sagamore Hotel, I explore buoyancy and transition, pausing fleeting moments as they ripple, sparkle, and settle. Through richly pigmented metallics and inks, each piece invites viewers to move around it, to witness the depth, light, and movement from multiple perspectives. Water becomes metaphor, mirror, and mentor—a reminder that life, like water, is both constant and ever-changing. Here, suspended moments of light and motion offer rejuvenation, connecting individuals, spaces, and hearts through the elemental rhythm of water.
